Plastic Free July Activity

Participants held pledge cards naming the single-use item they would give up: cups, plastic drink bottles or food wrap.

Plastic Free July at CYDE asked people to make one personal commitment and say it out loud. Each participant held a pledge card that began "This July, I am pledging to refuse" and named the item they would give up: single-use cups, single-use plastic drink bottles, or plastic food wrap.

The pledges came from a wide circle, from a young child to university staff and community members. Every card carried the same Urdu tagline, "ہماری زمین ہماری ذمہ داری" (Our land, our responsibility), with the campaign tag #PlasticFreePledge.

The activity formed part of Climate Muhafiz, CYDE's climate programme.
